Food Allergy Overview

Approximately 2% of adults and 5% of infants and young children in U.S. suffer from food allergies.  This equates to one to two Scouts in the typical Pack, Troop, or Crew.  Thirty thousand will require emergency treatment each year.  Do you have one of these Scouts in your unit?  With a little planning, food allergies can be managed at a camp-out.

Eight foods account for 90% of the allergic reactions. See the list of links below for each specific allergen.
